Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday said Islamic countries can work together to resolve the numerous problems the Muslim world is facing.

In a meeting with the new Sudanese Ambassador to Iran Adel Ibrahim Mustafa here in Tehran, Rouhani said the Muslim world is facing many problems that should be settled with the help of all Islamic states.

“I hope that, in the future, we would not see any war and bloodshed in the region, and if there is any problem in the Muslim world, we should try to have it resolved through non-military means,” he added.

The Iranian president further underscored the necessity for mutual cooperation between Iran and Sudan, reiterating that Tehran and Khartoum should work together to settle issues in the Muslim world.

Iran and Sudan in recent years have been on the frontline of the fight against unilateralism and global arrogance, Rouhani stressed, expressing the hope that consultations and collaborations between the two sides would develop further.

Mustafa, for his part, voiced his country’s resolve to expand its ties with Iran.

He also submitted his credentials to Iran’s president during the Tuesday meeting.
