Iran’s Top Commander: No Country Entitled to Interfere in Iraq, Lebanon

“The enemies have in recent days implemented plots in Lebanon and Iraq to misuse people’s righteous demands and empower proxy governments but senior clerics and the Lebanese and Iraqi people confronted their plots,” General Baqeri said in the Central city of Qom.

He underlined the need for the Iraqi and Lebanese governments to resolve the problems in their countries, and said, “No one is entitled to interfere in these countries.”

General Baqeri said that enemies imagine that the resistance front will be damaged by such plots, but they are mistaken.

His remarks came a week after Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei warned that the recent unrests in certain regional states, including Iraq and Lebanon, were the result of interference of Washington, certain western countries and reactionary regimes in the region.

“The culprit behind these dangerous hatred and animosities is known and the US and western intelligence services are behind them, supported by the money of certain reactional regimes in the region,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing the joint graduation, inauguration and epaulette granting ceremony for cadets of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army Academies in Tehran.

He underlined that the main priority for Iraq and Lebanon should be restoration of security, adding, “The people of these countries should also understand that the enemy is after distorting the legal structures and creating vacuum in these countries and the only way for people to attain their righteous demands is pursuing them within the framework of legal structures.”

Ayatollah Khamenei also described the main task of the arrogant powers’ armies as to be aggression, usurpation and damaging other countries, reminding of the crimes committed by the British, French and US armies in the past 100 years in different parts of the world.

Elsewhere, he referred to the US and Israel’s repeated failures against the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance groups, and said they failed in Western Asia despite spending lots of money, as they have admitted too.

“With God’s help, the Great March of Return will lead to the return of the Palestinians one day, and the true owners of the land will return to it,” Ayatollah Khamenei stressed.
