Iran’s Zarif welcomes Omani King in airport

Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said Al Said, the first foreign top-ranking official guest of President Hassan Rohani arrived in Tehran Sunday noon.

According to FNA, upon arrival, Sultan Qaboos was welcomed by foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif at the airport.
During the welcome ceremony, the Iranian foreign minister told reporters that matters of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation and the latest important regional and international developments would be on the agenda of the visit to Iran by the Omani King.
Zarif added that the issues of extremism, terrorism and foreign intervention have jeopardized the security in the region.
He further commented on the media speculation that the King is in Tehran to help resumption of Iran-US relations and said that we had no information in this regard.
