The Iraqi military, supported by volunteer forces, has reportedly succeeded in liberating another region in Salahuddin Province from the Takfiri ISIL terrorist group’s grip.

According to reports, Iraqi troops managed to regain full control of Yathrib district in Salahuddin Province. They also recaptured Dhuluiya airbase, situated south of the city of Tikrit.

The military offensive is part of a broader operation aimed at purging the province of the ISIL militants.

The Iraqi army has so far managed to make many gains in the fight against the ISIL militants.

On December 24, the Iraqi army killed 36 ISIL Takfiris in fresh clashes in the troubled western province of al-Anbar.

The ISIL launched an offensive in Iraq in June and took control of the country’s second largest city, Mosul, before sweeping through parts of the country’s Sunni Arab heartland.

The Takfiri militants have been carrying out horrific acts of violence, including public decapitations and crucifixions, against all Iraqi communities such as Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, and Christians.
