Iraq has good cooperation in providing security of Iranian pilgrims

Iran’s Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi

Iran’s Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi said on Friday Iraqi officials have good cooperation with Iran in providing security of Iranian pilgrims.

According to IRNA, calling the talks with Iraqi officials “positive,” Moslehi noted that Iran is ready to transfer its experience to the brother country of Iraq.
The Minister said “Iraqi nation and government are committed to expel MKO terrorist group from its soil.”
The Intelligence minister had a trip to Iraq on April 1. He conferred latest regional and international developments with the Iraqi officials during the trip.
Moslehi, heading a delegation, arrived in Baghdad on Monday. During his stay in Baghdad, Moslehi held talks with Iraqi officials, including Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim.
Iran and Iraq have enjoyed growing ties ever since the overthrow of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, during the 2003 US invasion of the Muslim country.
The MKO terrorist group, founded in the 1960s. The group started assassination of the citizens and officials after the Islamic Revolution in a bid to take control of the newly-established Islamic Republic. It martyred several of Iran’s new leaders in the early years after the revolution, including the then President, Mohammad Ali Rajayee, Prime Minister, Mohammad Javad Bahonar and the Judiciary Chief, Mohammad Hossein Beheshti who were martyred in bomb attacks by MKO members in 1981.
