In a massive operation in Salahuddin province during which 22 terrorists were killed, the Iraqi army could completely free Mansouriya region, 30km from East of Baqoubah.

Al-Iraqiya news channel quoted a security source as saying that the Iraqi air force targeted terrorists in the Northern villages of Mansouriya and killed 22 of them, including Abu Harb and two other ringleaders of the ISIL.

An informed Iraqi source also said that most of the armed militants have fled Salahuddin province but they have left a large number of bombs and mines which should be defused by the army.

Also on Saturday, the Iraqi army regained control over the positions of the ISIL in Salahuddin province.

The ISIL terrorists were driven out of their positions in the Northern parts of Samarra, an Iraqi security source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told FNA.

Also yesterday, 18 terrorists were killed when the Iraqi air force on Saturday morning bombed the shelter of ISIL terrorist gangs in al-Fahd village of the Left Coast district in Northern Salahuddin province.

“The bombing resulted in the death of 18 ISIL terrorists, including a Chechen terrorist and 3 Afghans,” security sources said.

Several ISIL commanders were killed on Saturday. A senior ISIL commander was killed by tribesmen in the Northern Iraqi city of Hawijah.

The terrorist’s name was Nasir Sabet, according to Al-Iraqiya TV.

Iraqi warplanes also targeted three oil tankers stolen by the Takfiri militants from a village South of the Northern city of Kirkuk, the channel said.

The army also launched successful attacks on the militants in Salahuddin’s neighboring province of Diyala and in Kirkuk Governorate. The attack in Diyala targeted the militants in the Masuriyat al-Jabal area, Northeast of the provincial capital Baquba.

The army campaign in Kirkuk involved airstrikes on the ISIL militants in Hawija.

Also, Iraqi security and popular forces killed Mohammed Jendal al-Janabi, the ISIL’s top military commander, in Jurf al-Sakhar sub-district, 45 km Northwest of Hilla, Babil province.

“The Iraqi security forces on Saturday dawn launched a wide armed attack against ISIL terrorist gangs in Sindeeg district which killed a number of ISIL terrorists, including al-Janabi,” security source said.

The attack also forced ISIL terrorists to withdraw from areas that they had controlled two days ago, the source added.

Iraq is currently witnessing a wave of violence, which escalated after militants from the ISIL terrorist group took control of large swathes and key cities in the Northwestern parts of the country.

The Iraqi forces are pressing ahead with their fight against militants from the terrorist group who threatened to take the battle to Baghdad, but are now losing the grounds they gained in the early days of their raid on the Muslim state.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has said that the country’s security forces would fully confront the terrorists.
