Iraq Offer to Pay 100mln Dinars Bounty for Hunting Izaat Al-Dori

Iraq Offer to Pay 100mln Dinars Bounty for Hunting Izaat Al-DoriGovernor of al-Khalis city in Iraq’s Northern Diyala province announced a 100-million-Dinar bounty for any piece of information leading to the capture of Saddam Hussein’s deputy, former Vice-President Izzat Ibrahim al-Dori.

“A 100mln dinar will be awarded to anyone who can help arrest Izzat Ibrahim al-Dori through his information,” Uday al-Khadran told FNA on Monday.

He said that capturing al-Dori and his family who had the key role in massacring 2,000 residents of the Diyala province during Saddam’s era can soothe the pain and agony of the victims’ families and relatives.

Some news sources had earlier said that al-Dori has escaped from Iraq and is in a Persian Gulf littoral state. A senior Iraqi legislator, Izzat Shabandar, revealed in April that Qatar has sheltered al-Dori.

Shabandar blasted the Qatari government for its positions and its assistance to the Baath party officials, and said it was an unfriendly behavior and if it is proved that Doha has sheltered al-Doui, the Iraqi government and nation will take a proper position against that country.

Al-Dori was the deputy head of Iraq’s Revolutionary Command Council under Saddam, who was toppled after the US-led invasion in 2003. He took over the Baath Party leadership after Saddam was executed in 2006.
