Iraqi Air Force kills several Daesh commanders in new attack on southeast Syria

The Iraqi Air Force killed several commanders from the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) in a new attack on southeastern Syria, a new report said on Sunday.

Citing the Director General of Iraq’s Interior Ministry, Abu ‘Ali Al-Basri, Al-Ma’aloumeh News said on Sunday at least sixteen Islamic State commanders were killed by the Iraqi Air Force in the Al-Sousah region of Deir Ezzor.

The news site said that the sixteen Islamic State commanders were close aides to the terrorist group’s chief, Ibrahim Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, in the southeastern countryside of the Deir Ezzor Governorate.

These latest airstrikes by the Iraqi Air Force come just days after they carried out a similar attack in the Al-Sousah region of Syria.

The previous Iraqi Air Force attack resulted in the death of more than 40 Islamic State fighters and commanders.
