The Iraqi army and popular committees, supported by the country’s warplanes, raided ISIL’s defense lines in Albu Hayat near Ramadi and retook full control over the Western side of the region after killing a large number of the terrorists on Tuesday, military sources said.

The sources said that the Western territories of Albu Hayat in Eastern side of Haditha and Western side of Ramadi were recaptured form the ISIL in a joint operation of the Iraqi army and tribal fighters.

The Iraqi fighter jets also played a crucial role in the ground forces’ success in Albu Hayat, the sources underlined.

They added that the operation is still continuing to liberate the Eastern part of Albu Hayat.

Sources said earlier today that 40 members of the ISIL terrorist group were killed in 24 hours of military operations in the restive al-Anbar.

In addition, the Iraqi army and popular forces also defused tens of bombs in the Western province; bomb defusing operations still continue in al-Shar’e region and the Northern parts of Albu Faraj Bridge near Ramadi.

Also, the Iraqi Joint Forces Command Center said the operations to free al-Karama district near Ramadi still continues while the Iraqi forces killed 11 terrorists and injured four others in the region; FNA reported.
