Iraqi Army Kills 88 ISIS Terrorists across Country

On Tuesday, Iraqi volunteer forces repelled an ISIS onslaught north of the strategic western city of Fallujah, located roughly 69 kilometers (43 miles) west of the capital, Baghdad, killing at least 40 terrorists in the process, Arabic-language al-Sumaria news network reported.

Iraqi fighter jets also destroyed three vehicles belonging to ISIS during the operation.

Separately, Iraqi security personnel lobbed a barrage of mortar rounds at terrorist hideouts in Fallujah, killing 27 ISIS members and injuring tens of others.

Moreover, at least 21 ISIS militants were killed as Iraqi forces engaged them in the city of Husaybah, which lies seven kilometers (4.5 miles) east of Anbar’s provincial capital city of Ramadi.

The Iraqi forces also pounded militant positions in al-Karma town, located about 48 kilometers (30 miles) west of Baghdad.

The commander of the 3rd Battalion of the Iraqi Army’s 30th Brigade, Colonel Mahmoud Morzi al-Jumaili, also told Arabic-language al-Forat news agency that volunteer fighters had killed an ISIS commander, identified as Ali Hussain Jasim al-Issawi, and 20 of his comrades during an ambush in Karma’s central district of al-Rashad. He added that security forces are combing the area to clear it of any possible improvised explosive device.
