IRGC capable of tracking terrorists beyond borders

Mohammad-Ali-JafariCommander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari stressed that his forces enjoy the required intelligence capability to track down terrorist elements even outside the country.

“We have the intelligence capability to track terrorists outside the country,” Jafari told FNA, criticizing Islamabad’s performance in dealing with the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jundollah, headed by Abdolmalek Rigi.

He expressed the hope that the diplomatic, intelligence and operational measures adopted by Tehran would lead to the retaliation of the loss of lives of a number of Iranian nationals, including senior IRGC commanders.

The comments by Jafari came a week after a deadly bombing in the country’s southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan in which 42 people were killed and several others were wounded.

Lieutenant Commander of the IRGC Ground Force Brigadier General Nourali Shoushtari, Sistan and Balouchestan province’s IRGC Commander General Rajabali Mohammadzadeh, Iranshahr Corps commander, Sarbaz Corps commander and Amiralmoemenin Brigade commander were among the martyrs of the terrorist attack.

The Pakistan-based terrorist group Jundollah has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.

Jafari further underlined that Iran has presented Islamabad with irrefutable evidence and documents showing that the Rigi group is under the intelligence coverage and surveillance of Pakistan, and added, “We expected urgent measures by the Pakistani authorities, but this has not materialized yet because the US dominates the country and pressurizes them.”

He called on Pakistan to extradite Jundollah’s terrorist elements to Iran.
