IRGC Commander: 2 Terrorist Teams Disbanded in Iran

Commander of the Tehran division of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) General Mohammad Reza Yazdi announced that his forces have detained members of two terrorist teams who sought to conduct sabotage acts in the country.

Members of two terrorist teams which planned to foment insecurity during the ceremony to commemorate the anniversary of the demise of founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeimi (June 4) were arrested, General Yazdi told reporters in Tehran on Tuesday.

He underlined the Iranian security forces are fully prepared to confront the enemies’ plots to harm security of the country, ensuring that there is no security concern.

In relevant remarks last Sunday, Iran’s Judiciary Spokesman Gholam Hossein Mohseni Eje’i warned that the US and Israel were using the terrorist groups, including Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, also known as the MEK, PMOI and NCRI), to stir insecurity in Iran.

“These days, the great Satan, the US, and certain American and Zionist statesmen threaten Iran and they have grown so desperate that they have resorted to the most hated people and the terrorists, whose hands are stained with the blood of over 17,000 Iranian people, to attain their goals,” Mohseni Eje’i told reporters in a press conference in Tehran.

He said that the Iranian nation and the security and police forces are vigilant enough and will confront any group which seeks to disrupt the country’s security and tranquility of the people.
