A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) underlined the necessity for the Iranian people and Armed Forces’ vigilance against enemies’ plots, and said the arrogant powers are currently at a cultural war against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“The enemy has concentrated all its activities on a cultural war against the sacred Islamic Republic system,” Commander of the IRGC’s Second Naval Zone General Ali Razmjou said, addressing a gathering of Basijis (volunteer forces) and IRGC veterans on Thursday.

He said that IRGC members are always vigilant against enemy plots and discover and defuse enemies’ threats right on the spot.

Earlier this month, Commander of the Basij Force Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi expressed confidence about Iran’s dominance and superiority over the enemies in any kind of cultural war.

Addressing a group of cultural activists in Iran’s Western city of Kermanshah, General Naqdi said that enemies resorted to cultural invasion after they faced consecutive defeats and failures in their plots against the Islamic Republic in the post-revolution era.

He pointed to Iran’s ancient civilization, and said, “Of course, their tendency towards cultural war and invasion is a privilege for us since they have the upper-hand in hard wars but when it comes to the cultural war, our cultural stockpiles are filled with weapons, possibilities and capacities.”

“Definitely, we have the upper hand in such a war,” the commander said, adding that Iran will defeat the enemies by using the existing capacities.

Also, in July, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jaffari warned the Iranian youths against enemies’ soft war plots, and called for further preparedness to confront soft threats against Iran and the Islamic Revolution.

“We are in a soft war with the enemies. Their (enemies’) plans and hidden and clear moves in this regard are distinctive,” Jaffari said.

Last year, Jaffari had stated that the IRGC was preparing infrastructures for confronting military, hard and soft threats, adding that the IRGC had entrusted the duty for confrontation against soft threats to the Basij forces.

Jaffari said that fighting enemies’ soft threats is the most important task of the Basij forces.

“Today, the most important and main mission of Basij is confronting the soft threats and cultural invasion which is stealthily targeting the (Iranian) youth,” Jaffari said.
