IRGC Commander: Trump’s Silence on Military Option Proves US Understanding of Iran’s Power

Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami blasted US President Donald Trump for his recent remarks against Iran, stressing that his silence on using the military option shows that Washington has understood Iran’s might and power.

“Trump’s remarks, which seemed threatening on the surface, admitted emergence of an uncontrollable power,” General Salami said, addressing a ceremony in Tehran on Tuesday.

He said Trump’s comments were rich with a literature full of US defeats, failure and inability, “and unlike the past, the new US president didn’t speak of the military option against Iran because Iran’s power is credible and the enemy has realized and accepted Iran’s power”.

In relevant remarks on Saturday, Deputy Chief of Staff and Spokesman of Iran’s Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri underlined that Trump’s odious remarks against Tehran will make the Iranians more determined to further strengthen their defense power.

“Speaking on behalf the Islamic Iran’s Armed Forces and wise people, we tell the corrupt and wicked US government that we will continue the path of uninterrupted development and enhancement of the country’s defense power to confront the corrupt US regime with more motivation and more determination than the past and will not spare any efforts to defend the oppressed people in any parts of the world’s geography, even in the US, specially the oppressed people in West Asia region,” Jazzayeri said on Saturday.

He added that the IRGC will foil all plots hatched by the US leaders, warning that the Trump administration will witness the results in practice in due time.

His remarks came after Trump delivered a speech on Friday, outlining US strategy on Iran and ordering sanctions against the IRGC.
