IRGC deputy cmdr. hails Pakistan’s refusal to join anti-Yemen coalition

Deputy commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Hossein Salami commended Pakistan’s “wise” and “brave” decision against joining the anti-Yemen coalition led by Saudi Arabia.

“The calamities occurring across the region today are all the product of US and the Zionist regime’s atrocities,” IRGC deputy commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami was quoted by Sepah News as sayig in a meeting with Chief of General Staff of Pakistan Army, Lt. Gen. Bilal Akbar, on Sat. in Tehran.

Salami said the crimes and aggression carried out by takfiri terrorists pinpoint targets far beyond Iraq and Syria, and involve the entire region.

“Muslims are all aboard the same ship, and if one Muslim country is hurt, it puts the entire Islamic world at risk; therefore, we need to take the interests of our own country and the Islamic Ummah into constant consideration,” stressed Salami.

The IRGC deputy commander further highlighted the importance of maintaining security along shared borders with Pakistan, voicing IRGC’s readiness to share its experiences in confronting security threats with the Pakistani army.

Lt. Gen. Bilal Akbar, Chief of General Staff of Pakistan Army, for his part stressed that the defense, military and security forces of Pakistan are in close cooperation with Iran to combat common threats along borders in line with preserving the two countries’ interests and resources.

He also deemed the talks held during his visit to Tehran “highly fruitful” and a proper step toward development of ties between Iranian and Pakistani armed forces.
