IRGC equips vessels with Cruise missiles

The Head of Iran’s Ministry of Defense Aerospace Industries Organization (AIO) says it has delivered Cruise missiles to IRGC Naval Forces.
Brig. Gen. Mehdi Farahi said that the Ministry had provided military equipments including rockets and missiles for armed forces, and that tactics of application of these equipments had been up to commanders. “ 300Km-range missiles is among these products delivered to IRGC Naval Forces, and soon other Cruise-type products with different ranges and advanced capabilities will be delivered to IRGC,” he added.

The Head of AIO also asserted that precision and range of new missiles were improved compared to 300Km-range missiles. “This missile improves our defensive capabilities in marine confrontations. Surface-to-to sea and surface-to- surface Cruise missiles are capable of changing tactics depending on the given threats, and these changes are in commander’s disposal,” he added.

Cruise missiles, launched also from moving vessels, are capable of speed of 30 knots (60Km), Cruise missiles of Zafar, Nasr, Noor, Qader, and Ghadir being the former models.
