IRGC kills bandit ringleader in SE Iran

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has killed the ringleader of a criminal bandit group in Sistan-Baluchestan Province in southeastern Iran.

“In an operation in southeastern Iran, IRGC’s Qods forces killed Khodabakhsh Shahbakhs, the ring leader of a bandit group,” IRIB quoted IRGC’s Commander of Ground Forces Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour as saying on Thursday.

Earlier on Saturday, Pakpour announced the rescue of six people that were abducted by elements of the notorious Jundallah terrorist group in Sistan-Baluchestan Province.

According to Pakpour, armed bandits stopped a bus travelling near the city of Sarbaz late on Thursday to create horror and fear and demand a ransom.

The commander further added that the terrorist elements abducted six people — five Air Force personnel and a bank employee — who were eventually rescued unharmed in an IRGC operation last week.
