El-Zaza: Gaza managed to withstand the siege

images_News_2013_09_05_zaza02_300_0Ziad el-Zaza, the finance minister and deputy prime minister said that both the negative and positive developments in the Arab region have affected directly the Gaza strip, however it has managed to withstand the siege.

The Gaza government has made great efforts to deal and cope with these developments as a status quo, he said.

He pointed out to the recent developments that tightened the Israeli siege on the strip and prevented any access to the outside world, saying that the Palestinian people have invented new ways to break the siege.

Concerning the incitement campaign against the Gaza Strip, El-Zaza stated that these were failed attempts, launched by those who turned against legitimacy in 2007, to involve Gaza into the Egyptian crisis.

The Gaza government has succeeded in revealing and foiling their plans after exposing the leaked documents, he added.

He stated that the emergence of rebellion movement in the strip is part of the internal incitement saying that it is directed by the PA security services from Ramallah.

He stressed the need to unite the Palestinian factions’ efforts to address the resumption of futile negotiation that came in violation to the national consensus and constants.

He denounced the Egyptian military measured on the borders with the strip that tightened the Israeli siege, stressing that the Gaza Strip is a protective shield to the Egyptian national security and vice versa.

He called on Egyptian authorities to re-open Rafah crossing before goods and individuals, pointing out that any problem would be solved after the opening of the crossing.
