Four Iranian screen creations have been selected to contend for awards at the 2014 Silk Road International Film Festival in Ireland.

Produced by Artist Forum in the Iranian historical city of Isfahan, the films are slated to compete in different sections of the festival.

Renovation by Mohammad Haddadipour and The Sleepy directed by Hassan Khorasani will represent Iran at the Animation section of the event.

Those Who Remain by Farzan Moazzam and Blue Bubble by Farshad Khoshbakht are to be screened at the Narrative Film section.

One of the Art Forum filmmaker Khashayar Mahmoudabadi is also to preside over the jury panel of the documentary section of the Irish film event.

Mahmoudabadi’s documentary The Secret of Permanency won the Best Film Award of last year’s edition of the festival.

The documentary reveals the spiritual journey of a young girl discovering the echoes of ancient Persia through the remaining historical monuments in Isfahan, Iran.

She has traveled from another part of the world to Iran just to see and discover the city of Isfahan tapping into an insight of contemporary Islam.

The Silk Road Film Festival (SRFF) hosts films from the countries that were once part of this historical network of ancient trade routes, and focuses on Asian, Arab and Middle Eastern cinema.

The 2014 edition of Silk Road Film Festival will be held in Dublin from March 19 to 25.
