ISIL Fails to Break through Syrian Army Positions in Homs Province

The Syrian Army troops warded off a heavy offensive of the ISIL in Eastern Homs, inflicting major losses on terrorists on Tuesday.

The ISIL launched a surprise offensive in Eastern Homs, hitting the Syrian Army’s positions at the strategic town of al-Sukhnah by detonating a car bomb at a checkpoint of the army men outside the town.

The ISIL terrorists stormed towards the town after detonating the suicide vehicle, but the army men repelled their attack.

A large number of ISIL terrorists were killed and the remaining pockets of them fled the battlefield in the failed attack.

In relevant developments last week, the government troops engaged in heavy clashes with the terrorists who were intending to penetrate into a military position in areas surrounding al-Houleh in Northern Homs and fended off their attack.

Meantime, the Syrian government troops targeted the terrorists’ military positions and movements with artillery and missile attacks, killing a number of terrorists and injuring many others.
