ISIL Saudi creation trained by Western agents: Analyst

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) is a puppet terrorist group sponsored by Saudi Arabia and trained by the Western agents, a political analyst tells Press TV.

“This ISIS or ISIL is a very artificial creation. According to all the intelligence we have, it is first of all financed and commanded by Prince Abdul Rahman Faisal of Saudi Arabia,” said Webster Griffin Tarpley in a Friday interview with Press TV.

“It’s a Saudi operation and it comes out of a training camp which the US, the British and the French, in other words NATO, had established in Jordan, quite a few months ago, to train guerrilla fighters, death squads that would be used principally against [Syrian President Bashar] al-Assad in Syria but now they’ve been retasked,” he pointed out.

“So, we are being faced with a very artificial situation but of course this can lead to a real tragedy on a tremendous level,” Tarpley pointed out.

The analyst argued that instead of examining military options in Iraq, the US must issue an ultimatum to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and the rest of those Persian Gulf states to stop their financing and logistical support for this ISIL and cooperate with Assad as the Syrian government is a player capable of destroying the basis of ISIL.

On June 10, the ISIL militants took control of the city of Mosul, the capital of Iraq’s Nineveh Province. They later took control of the city of Tikrit, located about 140 kilometers (87 miles) northwest of the capital, Baghdad.

Fierce clashes are underway between Iraqi armed forces and the ISIL militants, who have vowed to take their atrocities to the Iraqi capital and other cities across the country.

Earlier this week, Iraq’s Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki lashed out at Saudi Arabia for supporting the ISIL terrorists.
