ISIS loses ground at the Al-Sina’a District of Deir Ezzor as the Syrian Army pushes towards the Euphrates
On Sunday morning inside the provincial capital of the Deir Ezzor Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard – in coordination with the SAA’s 137th Artillery Brigade of the 17th Reserve Division, the Shaytat Tribesmen, and the National Defense Forces (NDF) – continued their counter-attack at the Al-Sina’a District (Industrial District), striking the terrorists from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at the eastern sector of this industrial area. The Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade and their allies began their assault at 8:45 A.M. (Damascus time) on Sunday morning when hundreds of their soldiers stormed ISIS’ frontline defenses at the eastern sector of the Al-Sina’a District, killing as many as 25 enemy combatants from the aforementioned terrorist group before the nightfall dissipated the fighting inside the city. According to a military source inside of Deir Ezzor City, the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade and their allies advanced at the Al-Sina’a District, capturing several buildings from the ISIS terrorist forces, including the welding and sewing factories. The Syrian Armed Forces are currently involved in a fierce battle against the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham for control of the Al-Sina’a District; this area has been the scene of some of the most intense firefights taking place inside the Deir Ezzor Governorate over the last 48 hours.
