Islamic civilization strengthened by Muslim unity

Friday Prayer Leader from Muchesh, in the Western Province of Kurdistan, referred to the unity of Muslims as the ground for fortifying Islamic civilization and demanded heads of state to make the grounds for more open mindedness and revive the glory of Muslims.

Sheikh Mamusta Eqbal Bahmani, Friday Prayer Leader of Muchesh in the Sunni-dominated Province of Kurdestan urged Muslims to highlight their commonalities and fade the disagreements, reported Taqrib News agency (TNA).

“Unity does not mean dissolution of denominations in each other,” said the Sunni thinker and added,” None of the unity pioneers believed that all Islamic denominations had to dissolve into one school of thought.”

He also said,” Remarkable pioneers of unity believed in mutual respect and rejection of any desecration of other denomination’s sanctities.” And hailed some propagandists of Muslim unity among them Sheikh Mahmoud Shaltut (prominent Egyptian Sunni figure), Ayatollah Hussein Boroujerdi (outstanding Shia jurisprudent), Mamusta Sheikh-ol-Islam (assassinated Kurdistan representative of Kurdistan) and Imam Khomeini (RA), founder of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

When asked about the duty of Muslims when Imam Ali (AS), first Shia Imam, is misused by the enemies to fuel sedition in the Islamic society, he said, “One of the companions of the Prophet (PBUH) who was a leading figure in embracing Islam was Imam Ali (AS).” Adding, “Enemies believe neither Ali (AS) nor Abu Bakr or Osman or even the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH); hence they misuse all figures to fan the differences.”

Mamusta Bahmani reiterated that Sunni clerics have never disrespected Shia sanctities either in their books or in their speeches.

He hailed Sunni scholars for their sincere efforts for maintaining Islamic unity and said, “Desecration of any Islamic denomination is atheism” and referred to Mamusta Sheikh-ol-Islam as the greatest Sunni figure who was martyred for the sake of Shia-Sunni unity.

According to this Sunni figure the duty of Iranian politicians for spreading unity in the Islamic society is to follow the objectives of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

He also said politicians in other Muslim countries should provide the ground for a revival of glory of Islam by implementing open mindedness.
