Islamic Iran Opposition to Foreign Intervention in Regional Disputes

A senior Iranian foreign ministry official voiced Tehran’s strong opposition to foreign intervention in regional affairs.

“Regional conflicts could be settled only through reforms, trust in people rather than reliance on foreign forces, serious attention to people’s needs and stop of foreign intervention using Islamic teachings and values,” Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said at a Tehran gathering.

He said Iran believed that such an approach would be practical in Yemen, Syria and Bahrain.

Iranian officials took the great satan US and the zionist regime responsible for the current problems in the region, and urged them not to interfere in the internal affairs of the regional countries.

If the great satan US and the zionist regime had not intervened in the internal affairs of the regional countries, most of the current difficulties would not exist, Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi said in December 2011.
