Islamic Iran strongly condemns blasphemous US-made movie

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the blasphemous anti-Islam film made in the United States which insults Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The Islamic Republic of Iran has strongly condemned the desecration of Islam’s prophet and sympathizes with the Muslim Ummah for their hurt feelings over the act, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Wednesday.

He also lashed out at Washington’s systematic silence on such hateful moves, which are aimed at spreading Islamophobia, as the main reason behind the continuation of such measures.

Mehmanparast further noted that several documents of the United Nations and UNESCO emphasize the states’ obligation to prevent spread of cultural hatred.

“Apart from its legal obligations, the US government has direct moral responsibility to stop this dangerous trend of spreading the culture of hatred and desecration of Islam’s sanctities,” he concluded.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday that the blasphemous movie is called Innocence of Muslims and has been produced by the anti-Islam Israeli-American Sam Bacile.

Bacile, 52, is a real estate developer living in southern California and a sworn enemy of Islam.

The report added that, Bacile has assumed responsibility for the film, which he said was made thanks to Jewish donations totaling USD 5 million.

The anti-Islam movie has sparked outrage in the Muslim world. Earlier, a staff member of the US consulate in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi was killed and one security guard injured during clashes, triggered over the anti-Islam film at the consulate building.

The incident occurred following a massive demonstration held earlier in the day in neighboring Egypt to condemn the act.

The demonstrators asked the US government to apologize to the Muslim world over the release of the film.
