Islamic Iran to unveil new fighter jet soon

n00121745-bIran’s defense ministry announced that the Islamic Republic to unveil third generation of its fighter jet.
“ A new fighter jet to be unveiled soon, which is designed as a bomber and able to perform air-to-air and air-to-ground missions.

The plane is fully engineered by Iranian experts and is termed as one of the greatest achievements of Iranian scientists,” Iran Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi was quoted as saying.

It is the third generation of Iranian bombers introduced by the ministry since the Islamic Revolution broke out in 1979. Iran has formerly revealed “Azarakhsh” and “ Saeqhe” as the first and second generation of its fight jets respectively.

Saeqeh whuch has draw the attention of international experts is a competitor of the US-built F-18 with two canted vertical tails.
Saeqeh was first successfully tested in 2004, and was delivered to Iran air force in 2007.

The Islamic Republic also enjoys “Tondar” fight jet which was formerly used as a training jet.

The construction of the hi-tech planes comes as the Islamic Republic has been tremendously under pressure by the west over its nuclear programs.

The United States and its allies in the West blamed Tehran for pursuing nuclear weapons, a claim rejected by the Islamic Republic.
