Islamic Iran Unveils New Command-Control System in Air Drills

Air Force Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Hossein Chitforoush, the spokesperson of the countrywide ‘Fadaeeyan-e Harim-e Vellayat III’ air drills, announced that Iran has unveiled a new command-and-control system during the exercises.
“A new command-and-control system has been used in the stages of the drills,” Chitforoush told reporters on Monday.

He also announced that the third stage of the air drills started early Monday morning with 7 squadrons of F4, F7, Mig-29, Sukhoi SU-24 fighter jets as well as the logistic C-130 planes and home-made Saeqeh (Thunderbolt) fighter jets displaying their power and carrying out their missions.

Different plane equipments, ammunitions and tactics are due to go under test in the four phases of the exercises codenamed “‘Fadaeeyan-e Harim-e Vellayat III’.

An array of fighter jets, fighter bombers, cargo and transportation planes will be used in the exercises.

Iran has recently made good progress in the air industry and has succeeded in gaining the technical know-how for producing stealth aircraft and drones.

Iran successfully tested a home-made radar-evading UAV with bombing capabilities in 2008. The country’s Defense Industries launched production of Saeqeh and Azarakhsh (Lightening) fighter jets also the same year.
