Islamic Jihad delegation concludes Cairo visit

A delegation of the Islamic Jihad Movement led by its secretary general Dr. Ramadan Shallah concluded on Saturday a few days visit to Egypt.

The delegates held a series of talks with a number of Egyptian officials on Palestinian developments and Egyptian-Palestinian relations.

A statement for the Movement said that its officials also discussed the same issues with representatives of Palestinian parties including Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, political bureau member of Hamas.

The statement pointed out that Hamas displayed utmost keenness on maintaining Egyptian security and on controlling the Gaza borders to deter any infiltration into the Egyptian side.

For their part, the Egyptian officials expressed understanding toward the Palestinian people’s interests and needs and suffering, the statement said, adding that they (Egyptian officials) promised to extend facilities and whatever is necessary to alleviate such suffering.
