Islamic Jihad slams Arab states’ hostility towards Gaza

374649_Israeli-war-on-GazaThe Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement has strongly criticized the anti-resistance stances adopted by a number of Arab countries over the situation in the besieged Gaza Strip.

On Saturday, Nasser Abu Sharif, the representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement in Tehran said Palestinians are facing the anti-resistance stances of certain Arab states.

He said it is a pity the Palestinian resistance movement is not only confronting Israeli assaults, but also facing a regional hegemony which seeks the total failure of Palestinian resistance.

Some recent media reports indicate that the attacks on Gaza come by Al Saud’s consent. Former Israeli minister for military affairs, Shaul Mofaz, has recently said that Israel had to specify a role for Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the demilitarization of Hamas.

Mofaz added that Saudi and Emirati funds should be used to rebuild Gaza after Hamas had been defanged.

Abu Sharif expressed sorrow that certain Arab states have in recent years decided to normalize relations with Israel and supported the so-called peace talks with Tel Aviv regime as the only way out of the current crisis.

He concluded that although the road to victory seems tough, the Palestinian nation will continue to resist and will not step back from its rights, particularly the total removal of Israel’s siege on Gaza.

The remarks come as Egypt is refusing to open the Rafah border crossing with the Gaza to allow injured Palestinians to seek treatment at Egyptian hospitals amid Israel’s escalating military offensive against the besieged coastal enclave.

The latest Israeli military aggression against Gaza, which began on July 8, has claimed the lives of more than 1,900 Palestinians, including more than 400 children, and wounded about 1,000 others.
