Islamic Republic of Iran has made its utmost efforts to establish regional peace and security

Iran’s Deputy Interior Minister Ali Abdollahi has stressed the importance of bolstering amicable ties with neighboring countries, saying the Islamic Republic has made its utmost efforts to establish regional peace and security.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran’s policy regarding neighboring countries has always been one of strengthening and expanding relations, and therefore, Iran’s borders with neighboring countries have always been the borders of peace and friendship,” Abdollahi said ahead of his departure for the Armenian capital Yerevan on Saturday.

He added that peace, stability and security would be established in the region in cooperation with all countries and emphasized that Armenia can play an important role in this regard.

Abdollahi said that Tehran and Yerevan plan to improve security cooperation to fight against terrorism, organized crime and illicit drugs.

He expressed Iran’s readiness to transfer its experience to neighboring countries such as Armenia in the fields of training police forces and fighting drugs, terrorism and organized crimes.
