South African presidentˈs envoys to Middle East confer with Zarif on human tragedy in Gaza

2734651-3971751President Jacob Zuma’s envoys to the Middle East former minister Zola Skweyiya and former deputy foreign minister Aziz Pahad on Tuesday held talks with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and handed over the written message from President Zuma to President Rouhani.

Zarif said Iran welcomes any efforts and political initiative to exert pressure on Zionist regime to halt criminal assault on Gaza and lift the siege of Gaza.

Zarif praised the stance adopted by the South African government at international conferences in support of legitimate rights of Palestinian nation and the South African support for Iranˈs nuclear dispute with the western governments.

He honored the memory of late Nelson Mandela and his significant role in helping the international peace and security and justice in the international community.

He highlighted Iranˈs diplomatic efforts at regional and international arena in the capacity of Leader of Non-Aligned Movement to support the Palestinians and ease shipment of emergency supplies to Gaza.

Most victims of the Zionists atrocities are among civilian women and children, he said.

Referring to the dangerous dimensions of terrorism and extremism in various parts of the world and some countries in the Middle East and the African continent, he said all should adopt a common stand to eradicate terrorism and extremism.

The South African presidentˈs envoys to Middle East, Skweyiya and Pahad, for their part conveyed the warm greetings of President Zuma to President Rouhani and briefed the Iranian foreign minister on the initiative to help ease shipment of emergency and medical supplies to Gaza.
