Islamic Republic of Iran’s exports to ASEAN increase by 90pc

IRI’s exports to ASEAN member countries have witnessed a 90 percent growth during the first three months of the current Iranian year, started March 21, compared to the corresponding period last year, it was announced here on Saturday.

Amir Talebi, Director-General of the of the Asia and Pacific Trade Office of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization, said the country’s non-oil exports to the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) worth 855 million dollars.

The country’s exports to the ASEAN weighed some 60,000 tons, Talebi said, adding that the figure registered a rise of 80 percent in terms of weight compared to the same period last year.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations was established in 1967 having 18 member sates at present.
