Islamic Revolution of Iran not limited to Shia faction

“Some groups endeavored to portray Islamic revolution of Iran as a Shia movement which is not linked to Sunnis and other muslim countries,” said Head of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
Speaking in a meeting with a Croatian delegation, head of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Muhammad Ali Taskhiri said,” some groups tried to project this image that there was no relation between this revolution [Iran’s 1979 revolution ] and other Muslims or Sunni nations.”

“Fortunately we see the effects of this revolution in the Islamic World,” the grand Ayatollah underscored.

“Islamic revolution of Iran was a popular revolution not a coup d’etat and did not belong to a specific party,” Ayatollah Takhiri added.

“That popular movement belonged to the nation which aimed at taking Iran’s glory and power back,” the senior cleric underscored.

“Imam Khomeini [the late founder of Iran’s Islamic Revolution]organized and guided this revolution but western countries tried to diminish the effects of this revolution on other nations,” Ayatollah Taskhiri expressed.

“Fortunately we see the consequences and effects of this movement on Muslim countries such as Egypt, Tunisia and others nations,” the senior cleric mentioned.

In this meeting the deputy of Croatian Mufti, Aziz Hasnoich said,” we are sure that the era of oppression, arrogance and despotism has been terminated and believe in a bright future for the Islamic World.”
