Israel denies Jerusalemites basic rights

An Israeli human rights organization issued a report Sunday stating that Palestinian citizens in the occupied city of Jerusalem are “selectively” subject to “unacceptable” practices and violations by Israeli authorities.

According to the report, Israel’s Jerusalem municipality, the Israeli police, and other government departments in the city restrict Jerusalemites from exercising basic legal rights, treat them with bias, and selectively apply laws against them.

Israeli authorities have placed restrictions on Palestinian movement in Jerusalem and discriminate against them in planning and building laws, the report highlighted, also noting the arrest campaigns the IOA conducts against minors at late hours of the night.

Israeli police say the report does not provide a complete view of the situation, but only a partial and sometimes biased view.
