Israel dreads Iran military response: Official

Israel dreads Iran military responseThe Israeli regime does not dare to launch a military attack against Iran as Tel Aviv is truly terrified of the Iranian military response, says an IRGC official.

Head of the Public Relations Department of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif said on Thursday that the reason why the Israeli regime is not taking any military measure against Iran is that it is really afraid of Iran’s counterattack.

The Iranian military official added that the international community has confirmed the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, stating that everybody knows the Islamic Republic is not in pursuit of a nuclear weapon.

“Nevertheless, the United States and Israel are inventing various excuses in order to prevent Iran from making further progress,” Sharif said.

On February 22, 2012, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said Iran considers the pursuit and possession of nuclear weapons “a grave sin” from every logical, religious and theoretical standpoint.

The Leader described the proliferation of nuclear weapons as “senseless, destructive and dangerous,” adding that the Iranian nation has never sought and will never seek atomic bombs as the country already has the conventional capacity to challenge the nuclear-backed powers.

On Thursday, Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan highlighted the full preparedness of Iran’s Armed Forces, warning that the Islamic Republic will give a crushing response to any military aggression.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.

The Islamic Republic has repeatedly said its military might poses no threat to other countries, reiterating that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
