Israel should pay price for killing Gazan: Hamas spokesman

Hamas resistance movement spokesman Fawzi Barhoum says the Israeli regime should pay the price for the killing of innocent people in the blockaded Gaza Strip.

“The Israelis should pay the price for this war against the civilians and the innocent people,” said Barhoum on Saturday.

“They are now asking for the US assistance against our innocent people and resistance,” he added

Barhoum went on to say that the resistance movement, which is now stronger than before, will continue to resist the Tel Aviv regime’s deadly attacks on Gaza.

The Israeli offensive has left scores injured and 43 Palestinians dead, including senior Hamas commander Ahmed al-Jabari, the head of Eezzedin Qassam Brigades, since it kicked off on Wednesday.

Barhoum also censured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the strikes, saying he should “stand trial” for the deadly attacks on Gaza.

Earlier in the day, the Palestinian resistance movement Islamic Jihad also called on the Arab League to take action against the Israeli regime’s blockade on the Gaza Strip which has been in place since 2007.

The Israeli military frequently carries out airstrikes and other attacks on the Gaza Strip, saying the actions are being conducted for defensive purposes. However, disproportionate force is always used, in violation of international law, and civilians are often killed or injured.
