israel totally incapable of attacking Iran: Analyst

The idea that Israel is capable of attacking Iran is preposterous as it is in no position to conduct such a strike, says American political analyst Trevor Labonte.

Labonte made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Saturday when asked about a recent warning by the US secretary of state against any attack by Israel on Iran.

“That’d be an enormous mistake, a huge mistake with grave consequences for Israel and for the region, and I don’t think it’s necessary,” Kerry told NBC News on Friday when asked about Tel Aviv’s possible strike.

Kerry’s warning “further signifies the failure of the neocon/Likudnik strategy of waging overt war against Iran,” Labonte said.

“The very idea that Israel is capable of a strike against the Islamic Republic of Iran is absurd. The illegitimate, usurping Zionist entity’s weak military was defeated by Hezbollah in only 33 days back in 2006,” he stated. “So clearly Israel is in no position to take on Iran militarily.”

“The whole neocon strategy, which failed, was to use the Israeli false flag attack against the United States on September 11, 2001 – blamed on Muslims, but again committed by Israel – to get America to fight in a series of wars for Israel’s racist, extensionist,… Zionist plan to realize Greater Israel,” he added.

Israel may “attempt another false flag against the United States, most likely in the form a nuclear dirty bomb blast such as what was tested in recent days by the Israelis in a desert,” Labonte pointed out.

“The problem with this approach is that too much of the world is already awake to the Zionist false flag attacks, and in the event of such a disaster, Israel will automatically be considered the prime suspect,” he noted.

Kerry’s warning came following a conclusion of nuclear talks reached between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries – the US, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany – on July 14.

During a speech at the Council on Foreign Relations earlier on Friday, Kerry noted that Israel would be blamed for the rejection of the agreement by Congress.

“I fear that what could happen is if Congress were to overturn it, our friends Israel could actually wind up being more isolated and more blamed,” he said.
