Israel, West should explain Dubai crime

Iran’s foreign minister has called on the Israeli officials to explain about the assassination of a senior Hamas leader, Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai.

Speaking at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on Monday, Manouchehr Mottaki said that Israeli officials should explain about the use of British, Australian, Irish, German and French passports in al-Mabhouh’s murder.

He pointed out that the Israeli officials must be accountable to the world as to whether they have orchestrated such a crime.

Mottaki also said the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and Australia should explain about the use of their passports in the assassination of al-Mabhouh by a terrorist brigade.

He added that it should be determined whether Western security organizations were involved in al-Mabhouh’s assassination.

Tehran says that al-Mabhouh’s assassination indicates Israel’s being a sponsor of state terrorism.

Earlier, Dubai police chief Khalfan said Western countries whose travel documents were used in al-Mabhouh’s assassination were cooperating with Dubai.

The 13th Human Rights Council meeting is currently underway at the UN’s European headquarters in Geneva.
