Israeli airstrike kills Palestinian toddler, injures his brothers

A recent airstrike carried out by the Israeli regime on the besieged Gaza Strip has killed an 18-month-old toddler and wounded his two young brothers.

The toddler, Iyyad Abu Khusa, was killed when the airstrike targeted east of Bureij area in central Gaza on Sunday. Reports say the brothers, aged four and five, are in a critical condition.

Two separate Israeli attacks also killed two Palestinians in the northern towns of Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahiya the same day.

Over 50 Palestinians have been killed and at least 500 others wounded since the beginning of the airstrikes on November 14.

On Saturday, Israeli warplanes bombed Hamas government buildings in Gaza following a move by the Tel Aviv regime that authorized the mobilization of up to 75,000 reservists, preparing for a possible ground invasion.

Meanwhile, an Israeli commander has announced that the ground invasion of the impoverished Palestinian enclave was “definitely” possible.

Ahmed al-Ja’abari, a senior commander of the Izzeddin Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has also been killed in the Israeli airstrikes.

The Israeli regime says its military has targeted “close to 20 sites” across the cities of Khan Yunis, Rafah and Gaza City.

Gaza has been blockaded by the Tel Aviv regime since 2007, a situation that has caused a decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment among the population of about 1.7 million Palestinians, and unrelenting poverty.
