Israeli border guard injured at refugee camp

An Israeli border guard has been injured in a confrontation with Palestinians in the Shu’fat refugee camp, north of occupied East Jerusalem Al-Quds.

Clashes broke out after Israeli forces reportedly resorted to riot dispersal techniques, such as the use of rubber-coated metal bullets, tear-gas canisters, and sound bombs, against Palestinians at the main entrance to the camp on Saturday.

Israeli police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld said the officer was injured when Palestinians threw stones and bottles, but did not state the reason for the attack on the Palestinians.

Another clash broke out between Israeli forces and young Palestinian men in Al-Isawiya on Saturday.

The incident was related to the attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli forces on Friday, a Ma’an news agency correspondent reported.
