Israeli soldiers have abducted two top members of the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, in the town of Ni’lin near the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, a Palestinian human rights foundation says.

According to the International Solidarity Foundation for Human Rights, Shokry Mahmoud al-Khawaja, 46, and Abdul-Qaher Abu Srour, 42, were taken to an unknown location in the early hours of Monday.

Israeli soldiers reportedly invaded the houses of the two Hamas members and caused property damage before taking them away.

The foundation added that al-Khawaja had spent more than 15 years in the Israeli jails and has lost his vision in one of his eyes. Additionally, Abu Srour had been incarcerate by the Israeli regime for seven years, according to the same source.

Abu Srour’s arrest comes only one month after his release from an Israeli jail.

Palestinian prisoners have been subject to human rights violations such as the use of torture during interrogations by Israeli prison authorities.

The Israeli military often raids Palestinian houses in the West Bank to arrest activists and civilians, mostly without any charges.
