Israeli occupation to blame for Palestinian women plight

Press TV has conducted an interview with Isra al-Modallal, a journalist and activist from the besieged Gaza Strip, to discuss how the struggle of Palestinian women under the Israeli occupation.

The activist said that the Israeli occupation and its war mongering policies are largely responsible for the ongoing plight of women across the occupied Palestinian land.

She also highlighted a recent report by the UN Commission on the Status of Women, which blames Israel’s ongoing illegal occupation of the Palestinian territory for “the grave situation of Palestinian women.”

Modallal also accused the Tel Aviv regime of systematically killing hundreds of women and children during its war on the besieged Gaza Strip last summer. She added that women are still suffering serious complications and side effects caused by the use of unconventional weapons by the Israeli regime forces during the 50-day war.

The activist concluded by saying that women are also bearing the brunt of Israeli imprisonment policy.
