Israeli soldier injures Palestinian

An Israeli soldier has opened fire and injured a Palestinian teenager near the Erez border crossing in northern Gaza Strip, hospital sources say.

Taha Shedeh Taha, 18, was admitted to Kamal Edwan Hospital with gun shot wounds in his leg, medics said on Thursday.

A military spokeswoman confirmed that Israeli soldiers shot a Palestinian near the border.

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip come under regular air and ground attacks while they’re already under Israel’s crippling siege for more than three years.

The incident took place following earlier reports that Israeli patrols and bulldozers entered Beit Hanoun and opened fire on farmers.

The soldiers said that they entered the area to rebuild a separation wall — also known as the Apartheid wall.

Last Saturday, Israeli troops shot and wounded two Palestinians near the same border crossing. The men were hit as they tried to recover construction material near the Israeli-built Apartheid Wall, according to a statement by the Israeli military.

The wall runs through Palestinian land in the West Bank, separating villagers from their land and extended families.
