Israeli soldiers deployed in large numbers in al-Khalil

Zionist Israeli troops in large numbers were deployed on Friday in al-Khalil district in the southern West Bank, where they stepped up security measures to coincide with Jewish holidays.

Local sources told PIC that IOF troops were deployed from an early morning hour near the southern entrance to al-Khalil district and at junctions to Halhul and Beit Ummar as well as the road leading to Arroub Refugee Camp. The occupation troops set up military roadblocks in the area of Beit Awwa, west of al-Khalil and al-Fawwar south of the city. Palestinian cars were stopped and searched and identity papers checked.

The IOF also stepped up security measures around the Ibarahimi Mosque in al-Khalil to provide security for Jewish settlers.
