Italian intl. film festival to screen ‘Meeting Leila’

Iranian filmmaker and actor Adel Yaraqi’s latest drama Meeting Leila has been selected to compete at the 4th Bari International Film Festival in Italy.

The movie is scheduled to go on screen at the International Panorama section of the festival on March 20 at the Petruzzelli Theater in the city of Bari.

Meeting Leila features a young woman who demands her chain-smoking fiancé, an advertising agent, to quit smoking before their marriage.

World-acclaimed Iranian auteur Abbas Kiarostami who wrote the movie script, the film’s leading actress Leila Hatami as well as the director Yaraqi will attend the festival.

Meeting Leila was presented at the 49th Chicago International film festival held in October 2013.

The 2013 edition of the festival is to host more than 400 screen productions from around the world.

Several workshops, master classes, retrospectives, tributes and achievement awards are also among the program of this year’s festival.

The 4th Bari International Film Festival is set to take place from March 16 through 23, 2013.
