A Japanese economic-political delegation has arrived in Iran to explore investment opportunities in the country, Japan’s ambassador to Tehran says.

Koji Haneda says the delegation on Saturday met with Mohammad Taqi Hosseini, Iran’s deputy minister of cooperatives, labor and social welfare for international affairs.

He added that the delegation sought to get informed about “work regulations and facilities” for foreign investors in Iran.

Kazuhiko Nakamura, the director of the counsel for treaties negotiation at Japan’s Foreign Ministry, was a member of the delegation.

Hosseini also told the delegation that Iran amended its laws and reduced bureaucracies to pave the ground for attracting foreign investment.

Economic and political delegations from across the world have visited Iran to discuss resumption of bilateral businesses since November 2013, when Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – the United States, Russia, France, Britain and China – plus Germany reached an interim nuclear deal in the Swiss city of Geneva.
