Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian referred to the nuclear deal recently finalized by Tehran and world powers as an opportunity for enhanced cooperation between Iran and its neighbors.

The implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) – the text of the recent nuclear accord – would provide a new opportunity for the development of Iran’s cooperation with its neighbors, particularly the Persian Gulf littoral states, Amir Abdollahian said on Wednesday.

Trade and economy has always been an important aspect in Tehran’s relations with the Persian Gulf neighbors, he noted, stressing that such countries are top on Iran’s agenda for trade after the nuclear deal takes effect.

“We welcome all-out expansion of relations with our friends in the region,” Amir Abdollahian said, adding that extensive business cooperation with neighbors can turn the current security atmosphere in the region into one of cooperation and mutual trust.

Undoubtedly, no country in the Middle East would benefit from a tense atmosphere in the region, he added.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany- also known as P5+1 or E3+3) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran’s nuclear program.

The nuclear deal, also known as the JCPOA, would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.
