Jordanians ‘oppose’ treaty with Zionist regime

A political analyst tells Press TV Jordanians oppose their country’s 1994 treaty with Zionist regime as it has put them “at the mercy of” the Israeli regime.

Naseer al-Omari said in a Saturday interview “This is a peace agreement that has placed Jordan at the mercy of the Zionists. The relationship with… Zionist regime has always been a source of anger for the Jordanians.”

He noted “The calls to expel the Zionist regime’s ambassador and to annul the 1994 peace agreement with Tel Aviv are among the things that Jordanians are in consensus about,”.

The analyst argued that the Jordanian nation views the agreement as a means to secure the Jordanian regime in power.

Jordan has become the scene of anti-Israel protests since the Monday killing of Jordanian judge Raed Za’atar, who was shot dead at Allenby Bridge Terminal on the border between Jordan and the occupied West Bank.
