Judiciary Chief: Correctness of Iran’s Support Proved by Victory of Resistance in Syria

Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani hailed the Syrian people for their resistance and success against foreign plots, and said this victory indicates Tehran’s correct position in supporting the line of resistance in Syria.

“The victory of the resistance stream in Syria showed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has chosen a correct way in supporting the resistance and now we see that the countries which advocate the Zionist streams and terrorists are themselves entangled in turmoil,” Amoli Larijani said, addressing high-ranking Judiciary officials in Tehran on Wednesday.

He expressed pleasure in improved situation in Syria, and said, “This shows that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s policies on resistance have been correct and based on principles.”

Amoil Larijani underlined the necessity for the Syrian people’s continued resistance against enemies through increasing their self-confidence, and said resistance against the Zionist streams is performing well at present.

He expressed the hope that given the Syrian army’s control over the situation, the terrorist attacks would end and tranquility would return to the country soon.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs and terrorists against Syrian forces and civilians being reported across the country.

The US and its western and regional allies have long sought to topple Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his ruling system. Media reports said that the Syrian rebels and terrorist groups have received significantly more and better weapons, a crime paid for by the Persian Gulf Arab states and coordinated by the United States.

Opposition activists who several months ago said the rebels were running out of ammunition said last May that the flow of weapons – most bought on the black market in neighboring countries or from elements of the Syrian military in the past – has significantly increased after a decision by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other Persian Gulf states to provide millions of dollars in funding each month.
