Ken O’Keefe: Washington has no intention of eliminating ISIL

A former US Marine says the United States has no intention of destroying the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group created by Washington with the aim of maintaining perpetual conflict in the Middle East.

Ken O’Keefe said in an interview with Press TV from London that ISIL is being funded by the United States’ “proxies and allies – Saudi Arabia and Qatar.”

He added that the United States’ “good friend and ally Turkey is shuttling these terrorists across the border into Syria on a routine basis and even Israel is providing medical attention to so-called ISIL fighters in Israel.”

“So the idea that America would actually be fighting against this monster (ISIL) which we created is ridiculous on its face. United States repeatedly creates monsters in order to justify never ending war. That is the way that the empire sustains itself,” he stated.

The analyst also noted that “there is no actual intention to eliminate ISIL,” adding that “the real goal is to maintain perpetual conflict [in] which ISIL plays an instrumental role.”

O’Keefe argued that “the whole point is to destabilize the entire region around Israel so that Israel can expand into the Greater Israel Project.”

“All of this is actually part of the plan. ISIL is an instrumental part of that plan,” he said.

The head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq has dismissed the US-led coalition’s sincerity in its so-called fight against ISIL, saying that Iraqis can defend their country on their own.

Since August 2014, the United States and some of its allies have been conducting airstrikes against what they say are ISIL positions in Iraq. However, the raids have so far failed to dislodge the Takfiri group, which has parts of Iraq and Syria under its control.
